£50m-Rated Conor Gallagher a summer target for Spurs as Chelsea decision looms
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher for a while now, and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano insists that the North Londoners ‘will be there,’ per GIVEMESPORT, to acquire his services if the Blues sell the England international.
The first links showing Spurs interest in the former Crystal Palace midfielder came in the 2023 summer transfer window, as Ange Postecoglou has had him on his transfer shortlist “since day one.”.
Irrespective of interest in the summer of 2023, Tottenham’s approach amounted to no conclusions, and he ended up staying at Stamford Bridge. While the club could not sign him in September, the links to the 24-year-old resurfaced in January when The Independent reported the Australian boss’ keen interest in Gallagher.
However, the January transfer window ended with the arrivals of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin as the club looked to secure a traditional top-four finish to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the 2024–25 campaign.
Tottenham eyeing another go at Gallagher
Tottenham are set to rekindle their interest in the Chelsea midfielder as the summer comes closer.
The West Londoners value Gallagher at £50 million, although any move away from the Bridge could be impacted by the fact that he will just have a year left on his current contract at Stamford Bridge this summer. If Chelsea are not able to come to an agreement with the England international, they will undoubtedly be looking to sell him this summer in order to prevent losing him on a free transfer.
Fabrizio Romano acknowledged Tottenham’s interest in Conor Gallagher, insisting that the club will be in the running if Chelsea decide to cash in on the 24-year-old this summer.
Romano speaking to GIVEMESPORT:
“Conor Gallagher remains on Tottenham’s shortlist. He’s a super-appreciated player at Spurs. He’s been on Ange Postecoglou’s list since day one and has always been a player he loves. So, I think Tottenham will be there if Chelsea decide to sell the player in the summer transfer window. But for sure, Gallagher remains a player that is appreciated by Tottenham, and they’re waiting for Chelsea’s final decision on that one.”
