Pace, Stats, and… a Funny Face? Sergio Reguilón enjoys (most of) his EA FC 2024 TOTW Card
Tottenham Hotspur loanee Sergio Reguilón was awarded an EA FC 2024 TOTW card for his brilliant antics off-late, and his reaction, posted by Brentford’s official Instagram handle, is hilarious.
Sergio Reguilón has enjoyed a roller coaster of a campaign as he went from unwanted at Tottenham to capitalizing on the injury crisis in his position at Old Trafford with Manchester United. Erik ten Hag’s injury recoveries pushed Manchester United to cut short his loan spell, leading him to Brentford in the January transfer window.
The Bees were looking in the market for a full-back this winter to replace Rico Henry, initially their first-choice left-back, who was ruled out of the season with a knee injury.
In 2020, Sergio Reguilon signed a five-year deal worth £32 million to join the North Londoners from Real Madrid. However, the 27-year-old found it difficult to establish himself at N17, leading to a series of loan moves. Now, it seems he has found his feet at Brentford.
From unwanted to TOTW as Reguilón’s Brentford loan sparks revival
Sergio Reguilón produced an exceptional performance about a fortnight ago in a draw against Aston Villa at Villa Park. The Spaniard assisted a couple of goals while boasting statistics of five recoveries and a 100% duel rate.
While the Spaniard tried to help Tottenham in their race to Champions League qualification, the Villians found a way back with an Ollie Watkins brace. However, his antics didn’t go unnoticed, as EA rewarded him with a TOTW card in EA FC 2024, citing his brilliant performance.
He has an 87-rated LWB card with 91 pace, 70 shooting, 85 passing, 87 dribbling, 86 defending, and 81 physicality. He loves the card, but not the picture that EA has used on the TOTW card, Reguilón revealed hilariously in a recent video uploaded by Brentford.
