Destiny Udogie’s season calls early curtains with unspecified injury
Tottenham Hotspur defender Destiny Udogie has been ruled out of the season after undergoing an unspecified surgery, and his club team-mates have taken to social media to show support for the Italian, who has been nothing short of brilliant this season.
It has been a season of adapting for the 21-year-old as he moved to England; however, he has taken no time to settle in the Premiership, displaying an abundance of skills, talent, and potential to become a key player for the Lilywhites for years to come. That being said, he has already made himself an undisputed figure on Ange Postecoglou’s side this season.
Tottenham signed Destiny Udogie in a £21 million deal from Serie A side Udinese, although he was sent back to his home country on loan before he officially arrived at North London last summer. The 21-year-old certainly made the left-back position his own at Spurs, inverting at will while ensuring defensive objectives. The Italian international has recorded three assists while scoring two goals in 30 appearances across all competitions so far in the ongoing campaign.
Teammates rally behind Destiny Udogie as Spurs star ruled out of season
The former Hellas Verona star, on Instagram, posted a caption confirming his injury and the fact that he will be sidelined for the season. The caption went, “The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. An injury brings my season to an early end. It doesn’t take away from how grateful I am to every person that has supported me this year.”
Furthermore, Udogie will miss the upcoming Euro 2024 as well. His club teammates James Maddison and Yves Bissouma filled the comment section.
James Maddison wrote, “Love you, brother,” as “Stay strong. I love you,” Yves Bissouma added.
