Conor Gallagher seeking home comforts as Tottenham continue to keep tabs on Chelsea star
Tottenham Hotspur have been subject to links with Conor Gallagher for sometime now and the Lilywhites are expected to be in the running if the 24-year-old were to move away from Chelsea at the conclusion of the ongoing campaign.
The club has progressed in abundance under Ange Postecoglou and in his maiden season at N17. Daniel Levy & the officials at White Hart Lane would want to build on the progress Spurs have made going into the summer window, one way of doing so is buying the players that the gaffer thinks fits his style of play.
That is where Conor Gallagher comes in, all-he-can do midfielder that is rugged in his pressing, elite in his mentality and can contribute to goals every now and then. He is playing an impressive season at a below par Chelsea, he can surely up the ante at a club like Tottenham and a squad that is looking for some ceiling raisers.
Staying put or beyond London Move?
Any potential sale for his key midfielder would make Mauricio Pochettino very angry, however, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth speaking to GIVEMESPORT insists that the Blues will have to sell in order for the club to persist complying with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations.
The report by Dharmesh Sheth seconded by another journalist, Dean Jones, who insists that the North Londoners would have a better chance at landing the former Derby midfielder owing to his preference to stay in London.
“New links have started between Conor Gallagher and Newcastle, and it does not surprise me they would have interest, but I am not sure how far I would expect that to go,” wrote Jones.
“Obviously, Gallagher doesn’t want to leave Chelsea. He can’t even think about it at the moment, as far as I’ve heard, because he just doesn’t want it to happen. But if he does leave Chelsea, I have heard that him moving that far away from his family would not be ideal.
“I think another club in London could work better, and we know Spurs are keen and that his homegrown status would help them. It really is still a case of wait and see because if Pochettino does end up staying beyond this season, he would be very angry to see Gallagher sold.”
