Is Alessandro Buongiorno set to make his entry into Tottenham?
The coming summer might see Alessandro Buongiorno bidding farewell to Torino. The player from AC Milan has been catching a lot of eyes. Ever since Atlanta showed interest in him, there have been a lot of clubs battling it for him. According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur are not exactly far behind in that race.
Milan and Napoli are also interested in Buongiorno. However, competing with an English club is never easy when it comes to the market. Tottenham’s prowess will certainly be a more appealing option for Alessandro, especially with the project that Spurs seem to be building. They show no signs of slowing down.
Further, Tottenham’s distinct Italian connection may also become inciting at this point. The transfer to Spurs may become extremely persuasive once the Milan star sees how homesickness will not be a problem. As Tottenham looks for a defender, Alessandro may want to consider accepting when the team approaches.
Tottenham Hotspur’s made in Italy
Tottenham’s interest in signing from Italy is not a newfound one. While Alessandro’s an interesting prospect, the genesis of the trend can in no way be credited to him. Tottenham is famous, or rather infamous for fishing from Italian clubs when the need arises.
In the last two transfer windows, the English have not been shy in snatching up Italian players. Guglielmo Vicario was taken from Empoli. Similarly, Dragusin for taken from Genoa for 30 million, including bonuses.
Further, there is news from The Telegraph that Fabio Paratici may be assisting Tottenham in the transfer window. He is an Italian association football director and has previously been a manager for the club. With an unmatched understanding of Serie A knowledge, having him on the consultancy is a boon. As mentioned before, Tottenham has strong Italian connections.
Despite his FIFA ban, Paratici is respected for his advice, and Alessandro is one of his favourites. Naturally, Tottenham has eyes on him. Udogie, Kulusevski, Romero and Bentancur have all also arrived from Italian championships. It is no secret that Tottenham has a strong Italian connection.
The next one could be Buongiorno, Milan and Napoli have been warned.
