Impressive Tottenham loanee finish in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

Ange Postecoglou had a quick answer when whether he’d have taken Tottenham finishing fifth at the beginning of their campaign

It is now becoming more and more likely that Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham Hotspur could end this season with a fifth-place finish. They currently trail behind Aston Villa who are in fourth place with 66 points and have played two more games than the Spurs.

Ange’s men have 60 points in Fifth so the race for a top-four spot is definitely on for Postecoglou. No one would’ve expected the Lilywhites to even come close to the top six during the summer.

Harry Kane was their best player and he left for Bayern Munich this summer. However, Ange showed great character and rallied the Lilywhites together. Here’s what he had to say when asked if he would’ve taken a fifth-place finish at the start of the season. (h/t Sky Sports)

“I don’t start any year thinking we’re going to finish fifth”

“At the start of the year, I wouldn’t have taken fifth I would’ve tried to win it all”

Postecoglou also added that where the team is right now is a fair reflection of how their season has been so far. He says his team has been pretty good during this campaign but that they’ve also been inconsistent.

He says his team has struggled a lot with injuries and suspensions this season. Postecoglou believes that his team is still in the learning process of what it takes to be a strong competitor in the Champions League.
