Tottenham skipper Son is very keen to upset Arsenal on Sunday
Tottenham Hotspur skipper Heung-min Son has eyes set on the North London Derby this weekend, as the South Korean insists that the Lilywhites should stick to their high-risk attacking football when the League leaders visit White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta’s side is in a close title race with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, and it looks like they will have to win every game to have an opportunity to conclude the season on top while hoping for a slip-up from the Cityzens.
Tottenham are fighting a battle of their own with former Arsenal manager Unai Emery, who is leading the race to finish in the traditional top four with Aston Villa. This makes Sunday a game with high stakes, as the Lilywhites skipper admits that Sunday’s opponents, Arsenal, are among the best teams in the world, and it could be Tottenham’s biggest match of the season.
Son insists Spurs must stick to attacking style against Arsenal
Speaking ahead of the game, Son speaks about how the team is still young and learning. He acknowledged how Spurs should stick to their own style of play when facing the Gunners and back themselves to do what they have done all season. The Spurs skipper, speaking to The Standard, said:
“We’re still a little bit inexperienced because we’re building a young team; some of them are in their first season in the Premier League. So look, we can test ourselves against one of the biggest teams in Europe and the Premier League. But also in the world.
“So I think it’s very important the way we play: stick to our [style of] play, stick to our game. I think it’s a very, very good test. As I said, it’s against one of the best teams in the world, so it’s perfect for us. You want to always have good competition, and you always want to face the best teams in the world.”
