London rivalry intensifies as Tottenham Hotspur pursue West Ham’s Daniel Rigge

Tottenham Hotspur are chasing West Ham wonderkid Daniel Rigge alongside the likes of Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.

Daniel Rigge is an attacking midfielder by trade, and the 18-year-old has been subject to transfer interests from the Premier League trio, per ESPN, for a move in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Any transfer for the Hammers midfielder would sit with the Lilywhites recent transfer policy to acquire high-potential young players who can be shaped as per Ange Postecoglou’s long-term needs. Daniel Levy is apparently lurking in London to acquire one of the most talented up-and-coming midfielders in the city.

London rivalry intensifies as Tottenham Hotspur pursue West Ham's Daniel Rigge.
Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham battle for West Ham’s Daniel Rigge.

Daniel Rigge has been impressing for the East Londoner’s under-18 side, and he has netted 11 goals and nine assists to his name in nineteen youth league appearances. He signed his first professional contract last October and should soon be knocking on doors to make his debut for the Hammers if he keeps up his impressive performance.

On signing his contract at London Stadium, Rigge exclaimed in excitement, speaking to West Ham’s official website:

“I am very proud. It is a huge moment for me and my family because it is every young player’s dream to sign their first professional contract, especially at a club like West Ham United.”

“It has given me a lot of confidence that the club believes in me, and hopefully I can do well at West Ham in the future. I have really enjoyed my time here so far. I felt really welcomed when I arrived ahead of last season, and I am delighted to continue my development here.”
