Pape Sarr believes, but can Tottenham conquer tough challenges and reach the top four?
Tottenham Hotspur have a big few weeks ahead of them as the North Londoners look to qualify in the UEFA Champions League for the 2024/25 campaign, and midfielder Pape Sarr has made a bold claim about the club ending the season in the traditional top-four.
Ange Postecoglou‘s side have incurred a bit of a blitz off late with two defeats on the trot and zero out of a possible six points have left the club seven points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa. Tottenham, however, have two games in hand over the Villans and they will have to turn those into wins to ensure they breathe down Unai Emery’s neck deep into the season. One of those opportunities comes in the London derby against Chelsea.
Villa and Unai Emery are still in control of their destiny, but this is Premier League and twists and turns are always around the corner. That is certainly what Tottenham fans would be vouching for going into the final run-in of the season.
Five Games, Seven Points – Can Tottenham bridge the gap and reach the promised land?
Tottenham’s Senegalese midfielder Pape Matar Sarr believes that the North Londoners can take fifteen points out of the five remaining fixture, which includes games against Chelsea and Liverpool, as well as a title-chasing Manchester City. However, even if Spurs managed to do so, they will be relying on Brighton, Liverpool or Crystal Palace to do them a favour in their games against Aston Villa, per Birmingham Live.
“The most important thing is to win all our matches,” Pape Sarr speaking to Sky Sports (via. Football.London).
“If we win all our matches, we’ll finish high enough. Our objective now is to win all our matches and finish as high as we can. The aim is absolutely to win these matches.
“We have to win our remaining matches to finish this season in the best way possible. Next season will also be here before you know it and if we can manage to put a few wins on the bounce together, that will put us in the best position possible for next year.”
