Out with the old, in with the new as Tottenham set for summer squad overhaul
Tottenham Hotspur as a club have made massive progress since Ange Postecoglou took charge of the club last summer. The Lilywhites have gone from one of the struggling sides in the Premier League to one of the most exciting teams in Europe.
The Australian gaffer has done brilliantly to ensure that the club is united and growing as per his process and project. However, as the club grows, it outgrows a few players, and that is a problem at hand for Daniel Levy.
Tottenham Hotspur are actively looking to raise the quality of their squad for Ange Postecoglou. To achieve this, they plan a squad overhaul that will see fringe and underused players depart White Hart Lane. This helps in vacating the spaces for new players and also ensures that the club has extended financial boundaries to help with new recruits.
Departures expected as club looks to up the ante insists Fabrizio Romano
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano acknowledged the same in his Daily Briefing. The Italian insists that the Tottenham boss has hinted at the possible departures of multiple players in the summer; however, he acknowledged that the final list of players bidding adieu to North London is yet to be finalized, with a few names, viz. Hojbjerg, Lo Celso, and Bryan Gil are expected to leave the club.
Writing in his Daily Briefing, Romano wrote:
“All change at Tottenham this summer.”
Ange Postecoglou has mentioned in media interviews that things need to change, and there will be exits in the summer at Tottenham for sure.
Some players like Hojbjerg, Lo Celso, and Bryan Gil could leave the club, but final clarity will be made in a meeting expected at the end of the season, with the manager also involved.
That moment will be crucial to clarifying the final list of names.”
