North London united? Arsenal begs Spurs for title favour

The North London United unites to triumph over Manchester City on Tuesday as Arsenal look for a League-winning favour from neighbours Tottenham Hotspur, and former Gunners midfielder Paul Merson comes up with a hysterical bet if Spurs were to win against the Cityzens in the mid-week.

Such is the vibe of the Premier League this season, where Arsenal fans gun for Spurs and Manchester City fans support Manchester United as rivals are forced to become foes. While the Red Devils could not repay the faith of City, can Tottenham bring the Premier League title to North London?

Following Arsenal’s 1-0 win against Manchester United at the weekend, the Gunners have taken the title to the last matchday of the season; however, they would have a little help from the Lilywhites to ensure they bring the first Premier League title to North London in twenty years. If Tottenham are to win against Pep Guardiola’s side on Tuesday, Arsenal will only need to beat Everton at the Emirates Stadium on the final gameday to clinch the Premiership title.

While many Spurs faithful have come out and said that they would rather lose the game than play a part in handing Arsenal a Premier League title, it is to be seen how Ange Postecoglou’s side will take it up on Tuesday.

Speaking about the kick-off at White Hart Lane in the mid-week, Arsenal icon Paul Merson said (via. Sky Sports):

“Arsenal are probably going to finish second. If you’re relying on Tottenham to win or draw a football match, yeah, no. If they win that, I will have a Tottenham tattoo. I will.”

And when asked where he would put it, he joked, “Where you can’t see it!”
