Alan Shearer expects Ange to stay and deliver success at Tottenham Hotspur
Newcastle United icon Alan Shearer has spoken his thoughts about Ange Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham Hotspur following his recent aggrieved reaction following the North Londoners’ defeat against Manchester City in the midweek.
Many Spurs supporters sang the voices of defeat as the Lilywhites were defeated by the Cityzens at White Hart Lane, and the home fans cheering for a loss got angry fightback from the Australian gaffer.
Ange Postecoglou comes along as one of the managers who speaks what they are thinking in the press conference and is honest about his takes, and that is something that has made many Tottenham fans go against the former Celtic boss despite the massive impact he has had at N17 in a short stint of time.
However, what has been a wonderful season at White Hart Lane took a blip when the Lilywhites suffered five defeats in six games leading up to the final match day of the season. To add to the woes at Hotspur Way, Ange has been pretty annoyed following the City game, which has left his future a topic to be spoken about by fans and pundits.
“He wants success, he’ll see it through” – backing for Postecoglou
Alan Shearer, in a recent interview, indicated that he expects the Australian-Greek tactician to continue at Spurs, change the culture of the club and the fans, and see out the project he has taken over at N17.
Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, the former Newcastle United striker said:
“No, I’d be amazed. He has had success, and he knows what it tastes like, and that’s what he wants to bring there. But no, I’d be amazed if anything were to break there at this moment in time.”
