Statement signing or austerity? Tottenham mull big-money move for Olmo
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo as the North Londoners look to add creative depth to the midfielder this summer.
Spurs have enjoyed a marvellous season under Ange Postecoglou, and they will look to build on the progress the Australian gaffer has made in his short time in charge at White Hart Lane. Daniel Levy is looking to ensure that they raise the ceiling of the roster at the former Celtic manager’s disposal to help the cause at N17.
Will Olmo be the missing piece?
As the Lilywhites look to explore the market for a level-raising addition, owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, John Wenham, believes adding the 26-year-old to the squad would “considerably improve” the quality of players at the manager’s disposal.

Olmo has a £55.8 million release clause in his contract with the current employers, and Wenham, speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, insists that the club should make a statement by signing the Spanish international. John Wenham said:
“Olmo is a very good player. He is highly regarded, and he is someone who would considerably improve our squad.”
“I would love to see Spurs go out and sign him because I know that every big club wants him. It is a positive thing for Tottenham to be linked with exciting players such as Olmo.”

Dani Olmo is one of the best creative midfielders in Europe, and bringing him in could help the North Londoners bolster their attack with his playmaking ability and goal threat. It is to be seen whether Daniel Levy will sanction a move for the 26-year-old this summer.
