Spurs star earns defender’s praise

Cristian Romero has praised one of his teammates following Tottenham Hotspur’s win over Sheffield United at the weekend.

The North Londoners sealed their fifth-place finish in the Premier League at Bramall Lane as we called the curtains on what has been an excellent season for Spurs. This will see the Lilywhites return to Europe after missing out on it last season.

It has been a season of progress at White Hart Lane, as the club has gone from one of the struggling teams in the Premier League to one of the most exciting teams in Europe in a short time under the Australian gaffer.

Tottenham won the game with three goals to nil as Swedish ace Dejan Kulusevski scored a brace while Pedro Porto scored his fourth of the season. While the game saw Kulusevski knocking on to his best form, James Maddison also managed to impress following a series of inconsistent performances by the former Leicester City star.

Romero comment acknowledging Maddison.

Following the game, the England international took to Instagram and promised the supporters that Tottenham would come back improved under the Australian boss next season. His caption said: 

“It was important to finish the season strong. Assist, clean sheet, and 3 points away from home in front of our unbelievable away support.“ We’ll be back better next year. COYS. Always.”

Cristian Romero left a comment on the picture, acknowledging Madison’s quality. The Australian defender wrote, “Topppppp Player,” to James Maddison’s post.
