Sessegnon set for Spurs exit as injury-hit spell comes to an end
Tottenham Hotspur are looking at a mass exodus this summer as Ange Postecoglou oversees an overhaul at N17, and Ryan Sessegnon is set to be the first player to bid adieu to White Hart Lane.
Ryan Sessegnon joined the North Londoners in a highly anticipated move from Fulham in 2019. He was expected to be a mainstay at the full-back position for at least a decade; however, things have not worked as budgeted, and he is staring at a Spurs exit. He has been limited to just 57 appearances in his time with the Lilywhites, with injuries being the major cause of limited appearances.
New chapter for Sessegnon, New look for Spurs
The 24-year-old’s contract at N17 is set to expire in June, and the club will not offer him an extension on his current deal, per Football.London. Ryan will be leaving the club as a free agent this summer.
When Tottenham secured his services, Sessegnon had been a phenomenon in the EFL Championship with Spurs London neighbours Fulham, where he recorded 21 goal contributions in the 2017–2018 season at a mere seventeen years old. He earned the tag ‘wunderkind’; however, because of injuries and preference, he could never find his form at Tottenham.
