Tottenham lining up a bid for OGC Nice’s Todibo?
Tottenham Hotspur have a long-standing interest in OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo, and the North Londoners are expected to line up a €40 million bid for the French defender, per Nice-matin.
There is a dire need for a new defender at White Hart Lane with the limitations they faced in the recently concluded season at the position as Ange Postecoglou was forced to play with full-backs centrally, hurting Spurs’ prospects of Champions League qualification. The Australian gaffer would want to walk into the next season better prepared with his roster by bolstering his central defensive options in the summer transfer window.
The North Londoners did bring in Romanian international Radu Dragusin from Genoa last winter in a £26.7 million (€31 million) deal with the Italian club, as the 22-year-old chose to join the North Londoners over Bayern Munich. Despite signing Radu, the Spurs remain determined to strengthen their central defence and are actively competing for the signing of Jean-Clair Todibo.
Is Dragusin not enough? Tottenham go shopping for another centre-back
OGC Nice is expected to undergo a mass exodus that started with the departure of sporting director Florent Ghisolfi, and others are expected to follow. This will help Tottenham’s pursuit of their defensive target, as Nice have revised the valuation of the Frenchman to around €40 million. Initially, they were holding on to a €60 million price tag; however, the revised numbers make more sense for Levy, and they could signify their interest in the former Barcelona man.
Tottenham are expected to face competition from Manchester United, Juventus, and AC Milan for Jean-Clair Todibo’s signature this summer.
