Fabrizio Romano backs Spurs move for Gallagher

Tottenham Hotspur are backed to make a move for their premier target this summer and make an attempt to bring their long-term target to White Hart Lane, confirms transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The North Londoners have been tracking Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher for a while, with initial links to sign the England international established last summer, and the Lilywhites are looking to conclude their mere interest in his services by amplifying a concrete offer this summer in a bid to lure the talented midfielder away from Stamford Bridge.

According to Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have maintained interest in the England international despite failed pursuits to land him before. With the 24-year-old entering the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge, a pursuit for his signatures right now becomes a significant prospect, and the upcoming window will hold an influence for a possible West London exit for the former Derby man.

Without any concrete indications pointing to a contract extension with his current employers, he would be open to looking for a place to call home this summer, opening doors for Spurs to drop in and make a move for the soon-to-be out-of-contract midfielder.

Speaking in a conversation with JD Football, he named the England international as a prime target for the Lilywhites this summer. The Italian spoke about Tottenham’s genuine interest in singing the 24-year-old, naming him “Conor Gallagher,” when he was asked to speak about one player that the North London-based club holds a significant interest in.

Pochettino viewed Conor Gallagher as an integral part of his squad, however, and the Argentine’s departure opens a question mark over Gallagher’s future at the Bridge as Spurs join the race for the coveted midfielder.
