AC Milan target out-of-favor Emerson Royal from Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering selling right-back Emerson Royal in the summer as part of their squad overhaul, and Italian giants AC Milan have expressed interest in acquiring the Brazilian defender.
Tottenham Hotspur deems Emerson Royal surplus to requirements following an underwhelming campaign last season. The former Barcelona right-back started the season as the first choice in his position; however, following a brief run-in, Pedro Porto took over his place in the eleven, and the 25-year-old hasn’t made a headway into Ange Postecoglou’s squad since.
He has become a bits-and-parts player at N17, aggregating only 22 appearances in the Premier League in the recently concluded season, although most of those came in the left-back and center-back roles.
AC Milan make move for Emerson Royal as Tottenham overhaul continues
Recent reports suggest that his time at Tottenham could be numbered as AC Milan has intensified the pursuit for his signatures, and the Serie A side is already speaking to his agent, Stefano Castagna, as both sides are exploring probable options for his signatures, per Luca Bendoni.
While the talks aren’t advanced at this point, the Serie A giants are keen to bring the Brazilian into their ranks.
The North Londoners will be holding on to a £20 million valuation for the 25-year-old’s services.
