Tottenham in good position to beat Liverpool to Santiago Gimenez
Tottenham shows interest in signing Mexican international Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord, who is also one of the main targets of Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot, to strengthen his new squad at Anfield.
According to Graeme Bailey’s exclusive interview with ‘Rousing The Kop’, he said,
“I think Spurs like him a lot, they’ve been doing work on him; I’d be making them favourites in that race at the moment.”
Bailey also shared the potential of the striker going to Anfield in the summer.
“I haven’t heard too much on Liverpool,I know there’s the links with Arne Slot but how much impact the manager’s going to have on the search for players, I don’t think Liverpool are built like that. They might be asking about his players but I don’t think he would drive that,” he added.
The Mexican striker completed two successful years with Feyenoord by scoring 23 goals in his debut season and netting 15 goals in just 11 games in his last season with the Dutch side. Arne Slot, who managed Feyenoord for the past three years, has now signed a contract with Liverpool.
Slot’s link with Gimenez shows an edge for Liverpool over the Lillywhites. Anfield and Slot are preparing to rebuild the team for the upcoming season after German tactician Jurgen Klopp left the club.
Spurs are also suffering to fill the space of their all-time top scorer, Harry Kane, who left Tottenham last summer and joined the German side Bayern Munich. The addition of the Mexican strike may resolve all the issues in attack for Spurs.
Liverpool already havea plethora of attacking options at their disposal with Darwin Nunez expected to be backed. That should make our pursit of Gimenez easier should Daniel Levy decide to go all in.

It is also a good chance for the Lillywhites to avenge the Reds, as they signed Luiz Diaz in the 2022 summer, who was then on Tottenham’s radar. However, it remains to be seen if Spurs are ready to pay what Feyenoord are seeking for their star man.
