Tottenham star close to North London departure with AC Milan keen
Brazilian international Emerson Royal is set to leave England to join Italian club AC Milan, as the club shows interest in signing the versatile defender in the summer transfer, as per Fabrizio Romano’s ‘X’ post.
Spurs were getting the Brazilian’s service from 2021, as he joined from Spanish club Barcelona in a four-year permanent deal. Emerson recently completed his 100 matches with the North London club and also has a 12 months contract left with Spurs. The Spanish winger Pedro Porro, who is in great form, made the Lillywhites sell Emerson.
As part of the revamp for the upcoming campaign, Ange Postecoglou is getting ready for some transfers in the club. The right-back will leave Spurs, the club is expecting around €20m for the defender.
AC Milan under their new coach Paolo Scaroni, is planning the signings that they need in the summer. The Rossoneri’s priority is to find a replacement for their captain Davide Calabria, who plays at right back, and his the contract with club ends soon. The Milan club is considering Emerson Royal from Tottenham and Tiago Santos from French club Lille to replace their captain. Among the two, Emerson has expressed his interest in joining Serie A club AC Milan.

But the price is an issue for the Rossoneri to sign the Brazilian right back even if he can play in various positions at the back line as the club is working hard for the forward Joshua Zirkzee from French club Bologna. If the price strikes again as a hindrance to signing Emerson for the Italian club, his dream to move to San Siro will remain unfulfilled.
