Stuttgart winger Chris Fuhrich on Tottenham Hotspur radar
According to reputed BILD journalist Christian Falk, Tottenham Hotspur are battling Bayern Munich for the signing of VfB Stuttgart’s highly-rated winger Chris Fuhrich.
Chris Fuhrich, 26, had a strong 2023/24 season with VfB Stuttgart, contributing eight goals and seven assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances from the left wing. He helped Stuttgart secure a second spot in the Bundesliga behind champions Bayer Leverkusen, and it remains to be seen whether the winger will stay or leave the club that has qualified for the Champions League next term.
The German wide-man’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed, with Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich keen. Christian Falk adds on X that Chris Fuhrich, who arrived at Stuttgart from SC Paderborn in 2021, has a modest €23.5m release clause in his contract that runs until June 2028.
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou should be aiming to bolster his squad over the summer transfer window. After an excellent start to his first season in the Premier League, the Lilywhites went off the boil towards the business end of the campaign and finished fifth. This resulted in them missing out on a place in the Champions League.
A few quality signings would breathe life into the Spurs squad and help them compete for a top-four finish. Offloading the deadwood from the squad and bringing in the right profile of players that fit into Ange Postecoglou’s philosophy is extremely important this summer.
The north London outfit is seemingly in the hunt for a winger, and Fuhrich could be someone to walk in and give the squad a lift. The German is a quality winger and would immediately bolster Spurs’ attacking options. Plus, Fuhrich’s €23.5m release clause shouldn’t be a problem for our club to pay if we decide to go all out for him.
Off the back of an excellent season in the Bundesliga, the 26-year-old was recently named in the Germany squad for the upcoming 2024 European Championships and could get opportunities to star on his home soil this summer.

Tottenham will be keeping tabs on Fuhrich’s displays at Euro 2024, hoping to beat Bayern to his signature after the tournament. However, with Vincent Kompany appointed as Bayern’s new manager and the chance to be a part of his revolution at the Allianz Arena could be difficult to turn down for the Stuttgart star.
