Real Betis and Aston Villa are in front for the Argentine star
According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur has informed their midfielder Giovani Lo Celso that he is free to find a new club in the summer. The North Londoners also cut down on his price ahead of the summer transfer.
Argentine international Lo Celso was very excited after he signed a permanent contract with the London club in 2020, despite the club offered him an extension after an average loan spell with Spurs. After five years with the club including the loan period the player has only appeared in 108 games with ten goals and eight assists.
A major part of the player’s career was taken by injuries. The recurring injuries were his main setback, which also caused the player to lose his confidence and form. Major part in the Spurs shirt, he was in the touchline waiting for playtime.
The player was also sent to Villareal on loan in the 2022–23 season. With his second Spanish club, Lo Celso had a decent performance under Unai Emery.
Even after his return to N17 in the 2023 summer, he couldn’t rise to the expected level, where he once again suffered from injury. Ange Postecoglou has no expectations from the midfielder anymore, as he gave him enough chances to prove his worth to the club. His fate was to bid farewell to the Spurs fans in the summer.
The arrival of the Argentine to the N17 in 2020 was for a £60m deal from Real Betis, Spurs also expected a £50m earlier, but as per reports, the club will accept bids from £15m for the player who called upto the Argentina national team for Copa America 2024.
A huge price cut has been offered to the interested clubs by Spurs. It is clear from the move that Spurs need to sell the midfielder quickly and want to prepare for other transfers.
As the price drops, the interested clubs may get in touch with Spurs soon for Lo Celso. As if now his former club, Real Betis, has only initiated a move. They have talked with the player’s representatives about a move. Emery’s Villa is also interested in the Argentine, but the English club haven’t made any official move.

Anyway, Lo Celso has to choose one club for his future career, and it is curious whether he will choose his former club or stay in the Premier League with his favourite gaffer, Unai Emery which also gives him a chance to play in the Champions League.
