Leeds setback opens door for Fenerbahce? Tottenham ace Rodon facing uncertain future
Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold insists that former Spurs gaffer Jose Mourinho could be looking to bring Joe Rodon to Fenerbahce this summer.
The North Londoners are looking at a mass exodus in the off-season as Daniel Levy and the officials at Hotspur Way intend to build on the progress under Ange Postecoglou. While signing ceiling-raising players is an integral component of their summer window, outgoings will play an equally significant role as the club looks to raise funds by selling players in surplus.
Joe Rodon is expected to be one of the players bidding adieu to White Hart Lane this summer. He has enjoyed an impressive season on loan at Leeds United, and while his preference would have been to make his move to Elland Road permanent, Leeds failure to make a promotion to the Premier League has left his future uncertain.
For the Welsh international to move to Leeds United, they would need to sell a few players before vying for the 26-year-old’s signatures, per The Daily Mail. The Whites need to set off financial losses of over £100 million before they can buy in the upcoming summer window. Considering the financial difficulties, the report states that a permanent move to Leeds would be unlikely.
Will Rodon reunite with Mourinho in Turkey?
Gold, speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, spoke about the possibility that Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbache will attempt to take the 26-year-old to Istanbul this summer. His words revealed how the former Real Madrid coach has always been a big fan of Rodon, which suggests that there could be genuine interest in bringing him to Fenerbache.
Gold said, “I wonder if Jose quite liked Joe Rodon; I wonder if Jose would want to take Joe Rodon to Fenerbahce, where he would do very well.”
