The Irish striker joined Tottenham as an academy player in 2017 and signed his first professional contract with the club in 2019. Parrott has only appeared in four games for the North Londoners, where his major part of his professional career was with some EFL Championship club as a loanee. He couldn’t had better fortunes in those clubs. He was a player used for single seasons by the club and his ability was not recognized by any of them.

The striker’s last campaign with Dutch club Excelsior Rotterdam gave new dimensions and possibilities to his career, The 22-year-old has scored 17 goals and five assists from 32 games for the Dutch side as a loanee. The performance with Rotterdam has helped the player gain form and confidence.

Parrott will return to Spurs as his contract with Rotterdam will end this month. The Irish striker will be optimistic about playing for his boyhood club. But the decision is with manager Ange Postecoglou, his interest matters in the future of Parrott in Spurs.

“I’d love for Troy to get a chance in pre-season to impress Postecoglou after such a big year in his development. My gut feeling at this point though is that Spurs will look to cash in on his impressive season and insert a sell-on clause or buy-back option in case he continues to shine”

Alasdair Gold, Tottenham Hotspur correspondent, shared his view through Football London. The journalist also said, “It is his dream to make it for Spurs” so from these words, it is clear that the player needs to stay at the N17 for the upcoming season.

Postecoglou will also consider Pattrott as a primary option for the club, as he has one more season contract with the North London club. Also, his recent form with both Rotterdam and the Irish national team increases his chances of remaining in the Spurs squad. Spurs also try to cash in the player if he is not included in the Aussie tactician’s plan. Postecoglou is strengthening his squad with new changes, and his primary focus will be the new frontline for the Lillywhites.
