Postecoglou needs a permanent striker in the squad for the upcoming season. The Aussie tactician had an impressive campaign in the N17 last season. In a season in which Spurs finished fifth in the league table and secured a spot in the Europa League. But the team positions in which the manager tried a lot of options were in the striker position.
Postecoglou has tried several Spurs players, including Son, Kulusevski, and Richarlison, but none of them couldn’t able complete the task perfectly. The gap in the striker position came after the departure of Harry Kane from the N17 last summer. So the Spurs boss has to find a proper striker in the summer transfers.
Gudmundsson had a wonderful spell with Genoa after he signed in 2022. He also scored 16 goals and five assists in 37 games played in the last campaign.
The 26-year-old expressed his desire to play in England’s top-flight league earlier, and the statement from the Icelandic player also made the North Londoners bid for him.
