From White Hart Lane to Adriatic Coast as Ivan Perisic returns home
Ivan Perisic will be moving to his home country following an agreement to join Croatian giants Hajduk Split on a permanent deal following his exit from Tottenham Hotspur FC, per Football Insider.
The North Londoners made his departure public last week as his contract at White Hart Lane came to an end. The former Inter Milan ace spent the second half of the recently concluded campaign on loan at Hajduk Split after enduring an ACL injury in September while training at Hotspur Way.
The 35-year-old silky winger is now fit following a return to the field in March earlier this year and is set to line up for Croatia in the upcoming EURO 2024 in Germany after being privileged in their 26-man squad ahead of the tournament.
Many feared that his season was over when he sustained the ACL injury; however, he did a splendid job getting fit again and made seven appearances at the end of the season to earn himself a European Championship call-up.
Perisic secures future
With the European Championship set to be held later this week, he already has his future figured out following an agreement to join Hadjuk Split permanently this summer. The Split-born winger will return to the Croatian first division side after previously frequenting their academy in his boyhood days before he eventually moved to French club Sochaux in 2006.
He has played more than 600 games since, and he will return to his home town with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
Perisic moved to Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer back in 2022 and has represented the Lilywhites fifty times while having just a singular goal alongside 14 assists to show for it.
