Tottenham Hotspur are about to be hit with a multi-million blow following failed transfer
As reported by Football London, Tottenham Hotspur are expected to terminate the contract of Tanguy Ndombele this summer. The 27-year-old has been an absolute disaster for the Lilywhites since his arrival in 2019.
At first, everyone was under the impression that Tanguy would grow to be a star in the Premier League. However, his poor attitude towards the game never allowed him to reach the peak people thought he would.
Currently, Ndombele makes over £200,000 per week which translates to somewhere in the region of £10m for a year. So, terminating Ndombele’s contract for around £7.2m would be a cheap tradeoff for the Spurs.
The 27-year-old has already been on three failed loan stints. More time away from the Lilywhites will not somehow lead to him becoming a better football player. For better or for worse, this is the limit of Tanguy’s footballing ability and the Lilywhites need to make peace with that.
He has by far been the team’s worst transfer and the time is write to cut ties and start fresh. The money saved by terminating the 27-year-old’s contract can be easily reinvested into the team for getting more depth.
Last season, Ange Postecoglou was struggling to field a strong starting XI while players like Ndombele were with Galatasaray enjoying their £200,000 per week contract. The team would’ve been better off getting some depth with that money back in January.
