Arsenal and Tottenham will butt heads for the signing of a 26 goal forward.
As reported by The Standard, Arsenal will now be competing with Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of 26-goal forward, Santiago Gimenez. The 23-year-old has been stellar for Feyenoord this past season.
Playing under Arne Slot, Gimenez made a total of 41 appearances as a center-forward last season. The 23-year-old played his role to perfection and was a constant threat in front of goal recording 26 goals and eight assists.
If it wasn’t for Gimenez’s fine form last season, Feyenoord and Arne Slot might not have been able to finish second in the League. Surely, his importance to the team will end up driving his price even higher.
Tottenham will surely fight hard to acquire Gimenez for themselves this summer. He’s exactly the kind of striker the team needs, he’s great at holding up play and makes some threatening runs behind enemy lines making him a constant annoyance.
If Gimenez’s transition to the Premier League goes well, he might even be able to replace Harry Kane’s output at a somewhat lower level of course. The 23-year-old has a lot to offer and the Lilywhites should be ready to collect.
It’ll be interesting to see who Gimenez chooses between Arsenal and Tottenham. One team was minutes from winning the PL title this past season and the other struggled and failed to qualify for CL football.
