Fulham might go for Tottenham midfielder to replace Palhinha after Bayern update
According to a report from Tottenham Hotspur News, Fulham might be keen on signing Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after Bayern Munich’s concrete interest in Joao Palhinha.
The midfielder joined Fulham from Sporting CP in 2022. Bayern Munich is showing continuous interest in the 28-year-old midfielder after he appeared for Fulham 33 times and even netted four goals.
Palhinha even had the first part of his medical exam when Bayern attempted to recruit him for £60 million in August of last year, but the deal fell through because Fulham was unable to find a replacement.
Fulham will want to ensure they avoid the same issues they faced last season. John Wenham, owner of a reputed Spurs podcast, believes Fulham will be keen on signing Tottenham’s midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Hojbjerg’s performance has declined recently under the coaching of Ange Postecoglou. He appeared only 39 times this past season and didn’t start in several of those games.
The continuous speculation about the 28-year-old’s potential departure from the North London club suggests he might not fit into Postecoglou’s system for the next season. Fulham might consider him a potential replacement for Palhinha, aiming to strengthen their midfield options.
Recently, Fulham and Bayern have been in talks over the future of Palhinha. Fulham put forward a £60 million evaluation for their midfielder. But Bayern wanted to negotiate and they bid an improved amount, which Fulham rejected.
