Leeds United are ready to make a move for Tottenham youngster with 106 appearances

According to The Athletic, Leeds United are keen on making a move to secure the services of 23-year-old Tottenham youngster Oliver Skipp to strengthen their midfield area heading into the 2024–25 campaign.

Growing through Tottenham ranks as a youth player, Skipp has established himself as a key player for the Spurs. He has helped the club throughout the years by making a staggering 106 appearances for the senior team.

Despite his wonders at the club, the Englishman recently struggled with proper game time as he only made five starts at the Spurs in the recent league season. Seeking a better first-team experience, the 23-year-old must be looking forward for a move this summer.

During his loan stint at Norwich in the summer of 2020, Skipp helped their team get back to the Premier League after their poor 2019–20 season. The Norwich club also appreciated Skipp’s performance during the 2020–21 campaign.

Having handled the resilient midfielder at Carrow Road during the 2020–21 season in the second tier, which culminated in the Canaries being named division winners, Daniel Farke may be the ideal person to help Skipp return to his best.

Leeds United certainly need a player like Skipp to replace Gruev, who is ready to leave the club. The 23-year-old would also provide them with an amazing defensive midfielder option without looking for more of them this summer.

With that being said, there is no doubt that the midfielder needs a change of environment to get a new start ahead of the upcoming campaign to work on his skills and bring out his true potential. He needs to experience his first team role.
