Tottenham prepares long-term future planning for the young defender who is ready for loan
Luka Vuskovic, a future defender for Tottenham, is about to sign a contract to play on loan for Westerlo in Belgium. This move might see him included in the Spurs’ starting lineup next season.
The 17-year-old and the club agreed to a deal for about £12 million in September, at which point he signed a five-year contract with Spurs, with the intention of moving from Hajduk Split to the club in 2025.
Following the deal, Vuskovic was unable to play for Hajduk again before securing a January loan transfer to the Polish team Radomiak Radom. He then went on to make 14 vital appearances for his loanee club in the second half of last season.
Vuskovic is now anticipated to spend another loan period away from the Croatian team after returning to Hajduk. Fabrizio Romano (h/t Football London) claims that Vuskovic is almost certain to sign with Westerlo.
According to reports, GBE (Governing Body Endorsement) points are essential since the UK uses a points-based system that Luka needs to comply with to be able to play.
The cutoff is 15 points, and the leagues that are most valuable in terms of point accumulation are Belgium and the Netherlands (Vuskovic has four points as of right now). According to FIFA regulations, Vuskovic can’t sign with Spurs until February of next year, when he turns 18.
The loan move would certainly be a wise decision. It acknowledges Vuskovic’s development as a player and his already exceptional potential at the age of 17. Belgium is a legitimate league with competent clubs that consistently advance to European competitions.
