Tottenham Hotspur prepare £60m raid for Eberechi Eze
Tottenham Hotspur FC have been linked with a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze this summer as the North Londoners look to sign ceiling-raising players to aid Ange Postecoglou‘s squad development.
Eberechi Eze has been one of the players that the Lilywhites have expressed strong interest in, and we have lived one story of Arsenal Academy rejecting becoming a Spurs legend in the modern Premier League era. As they say, history repeats itself, and the Lilywhites have an opportunity to do so if they manage to bring the 25-year-old to White Hart Lane this summer.
Can they lure Palace star to N17?
There is a keen need to bolster the attacking midfielder position in the offseason at N17, as James Maddison has not been his start of the season self since his injury, which has hurt the offensive sequences during the business end of the last season. Adding competition would be alarm bells for the former Leicester City star and could also ensure the squad has a qualitative back-up if Maddison were to get injured yet again.
Tottenham are ready to fortify their interests in Eze as they are ready to pay over £60 million to acquire his signatures this summer, alongside Premier League rivals Manchester United, per Football Insider. The 25-year-old, who netted 11 goals in the recently concluded season and further laid six assists in all competitions last season, has a £60 million release clause at Selhurst Park.
The report insists that both the English giants feel that his current clause is on the cheaper side, judging his excellent quality, and are preparing to activate the release clause. However, the Eagles will do “everything they can” to keep hold of the former QPR midfielder if his release clause is activated. However, his current employers stand little chance of preventing a big-money transfer.
