Surplus at Spurs? Hojbjerg linked with Atletico, Napoli, Fenerbahce
Tottenham Hotspur FC midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane this summer following his struggles to accumulate playing time under his belt at N17 under Ange P in the recently concluded season.
The North Londoners signed Hojbjerg in 2020 for £15 million following his impressive performances for Southampton when Jose Mourinho was in charge at Hotspur Way.
Lilywhites eye £15m Sale
He has been an integral figure at Spurs under multiple managers since his arrival; however, he has been a surplus following the progress made at White Hart Lane under the former Celtic boss. The Dane midfielder has only made 24 appearances last season, with most of those coming off the bench.
These frustrations have led to him wanting a Tottenham exit this summer, which has fortified into multiple clubs eyeing his signatures this off-season. Napoli and Atletico Madrid have been tagged as the clubs looking to secure his signatures, alongside former Lilywhites manager Jose Mourinho vying to bring him to Turkey this summer.
John Wenham, owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, is happy with the reports of interest in the 28-year-old. He insists that the club can sell him for £15 million this summer.
In an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham said:
“I think he will go, and I think he will go quite soon,” Wenham said.
“I think he will be sold for £15 million, which would mean we get our money back on him. The links with Atletico Madrid and Fenerbache are good news for the club. It guarantees a certain price point with several sides interested.”
