Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on adding another centre-back amidst Arsenal interest in Todibo
Tottenham Hotspur FC have a long-standing interest in signing Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo in the summer transfer window; however, North London neighbours Arsenal will now join the Lilywhites in the race for the former Barcelona man.
There is a dire need for a new centre-back following the hurdles last season, as the club had to play full-backs in the heart of the defence as fillers at some point in the recently concluded season. In retrospect, this is something Ange Postecoglou would want to avoid going into the next season. Daniel Levy and other officials at N17 would want to give the Australian boss squad depth that provides him with the tools to address the defensive frailties exposed this season.
Spurs did sign Romanian international Radu Dragusin in a £26.7 million (€31 million) transfer from Genoa in January after the 23-year-old chose to join White Hart Lane over Bayern Munich. Despite signing Dragusin, the club remains determined to strengthen their central defence and has been linked with a move for Jean-Clair Todibo.
Jean-Clair Todibo now a target for Arsenal too
Tottenham, alongside Manchester United, have been interested in acquiring the Frenchman. Arsenal has now entered the race for his signature, per Sport. Todibo is valued at £40m by Nice at the time of writing.
The Gunners would like to add depth to their CB as they lack sufficient cover or alternatives currently to William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães. They are also in the market to sign a cover for their first-choice duo, who are equally apt physically and technically, and they have landed on the 24-year-old star.

Arsenal entering the race makes it difficult for Tottenham and Manchester United to acquire his signatures; however, it is to be seen if they fortify their interests in acquiring Todibo this summer.
