Wenham urges Spurs to look beyond Rodrigo Muniz
Tottenham Hotspur FC have been linked with a move for Fulham ace Rodrigo Muniz this summer as the North Londoners look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the upcoming season.
There is a dire need for a new striker in the summer transfer window, as the club has yet to replace Harry Kane, who left Spurs in pursuit of glory last summer. With Kane gone, Ange only had Richarlison as the first-choice striker throughout the recently ended campaign, and he had to make do with playing Son Heung-min in the number nine role.
The Australian gaffer will be looking to go into the next season with a marquee striker at his disposal.
“Pass on Muniz” – Pundit questions striker’s suitability for Tottenham
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, John Wenham, suggests the club not move for Brazilian talent Rodrigo Muniz. He suggests that the 23-year-old has not done enough to prove his reliability for the club to consider him as a long-term option.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham said:
“I don’t want Tottenham to sign Muniz. He has only had half a good season, and it might just be a purple patch. It wasn’t that long ago that he couldn’t get a game or score a goal for Fulham. They were playing Raúl Jiménez instead of him, even though he was out of form. Therefore, I would pass on Muniz.”
Muniz made a name for himself in the 2023–24 season. He ended the season with nine goals and one assist in 26 Premier League appearances. This proved enough for the likes of Spurs and Chelsea to express interest in his services.
