Spurs prioritize alternatives to Chelsea’s Gallagher
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira as the North Londoners prepare for alternatives if they cannot land prime target Conor Gallagher from Chelsea. While the Lilywhites look to acquire the 28-year-old this summer to bolster their midfield depth, negotiations are ongoing to secure a deal that fits within the club’s financial constraints. Despite Spurs’ interest in the Brazilian ace, the owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, John Wenham, doesn’t believe the former Manchester United player is good enough. He does not want Ange Postecoglou to fortify their interests in signing Andreas Pereira due to concerns over his ability to play for Spurs.

The Craven Cottage side is expected to hold hefty demands for his services, with an anticipated price range of £25 million to £30 million believed to be enough to acquire the 28-year-old maestro. “He is one of the star players at Fulham, that is for sure. But for Tottenham, I think he would just be an average player, and for that reason, I don’t want the club to sign him. I could think of three or four players I would rather sign from Fulham alone.”
Andreas Pereira excelled for Fulham last season, with 12 goal contributions in the 2023–24 campaign. While there are still a couple of years left on his current contract at Craven Cottage (Transfermarkt), there are expectations that West Londoners will consider moving him on this summer. He apparently had an agreement with Fulham manager Marco Silva that he could leave the club in the first two seasons.
