Borussia Dortmund want to sign Tottenham Hotspur academy graduate Mikey Moore
According to Football Insider, Borussia Dortmund want to sign talented Tottenham Hotspur academy graduate Mikey Moore who is ‘regarded’ as a huge talent by the Bundesliga giants.
Moore is widely regarded as one of the most talented players coming out of the Tottenham academy at the moment. This is evidenced by the fact that Ange Postecoglou has already given him his debut in the Premier League against Manchester City.
Postecoglou had nothing but praise for the then-16-years, nine-months-old star, calling him a good kid (Official Website):
“I thought it was important. We’ve had him training with us for a while, I’ve been trying to see if we can get him some game time, because we’ve kept him out of the 21s as well, it’s a bit of a reward for him for working hard in the last two, three weeks as part of the first team squad, to give him that experience. He still has a long way to go, he’s only 16, but he’s a good kid and hopefully that encourages him.”
The aforementioned Football Insider report claims that the German club are willing to make a “massive offer” to sign the Tottenham teenager. Dortmund have always shown that they have an excellent eye for spotting talent and Spurs must take notice if they rate Moore this highly.
In 14 matches for the Spurs U-18 side in the U18 Premier League and the FA Youth Cup, Moore has 16 goals and nine assists. Those are frankly ridiculous numbers from the 16-year-old which clearly indicate what a prodigious talent he is.
Unearthing the next Jude Bellingham?
As mentioned earlier in the article, Dortmund have an excellent eye for spotting talent. When the entire Premier League failed to see the obvious talent that the Real Madrid superstar had back then, the German giants paid £25m to sign him from Birmingham.
Now, we are not trying to say that Mikey Moore is going to have a career path just like Bellingham did. However, the early signs show that we have a gem in our hands and it’s important that Spurs acknowledge the importance of it.
Tottenham need to take a leaf out of Barcelona’s books and place some trust in their academy graduate. Despite their well-documented financial troubles, the Spanish giants are said to have rejected a mammoth $268m offer from PSG for their star graduate Lamine Yamal.

It’s too early to be making comparisons for Moore but with Ange Postecoglou, he has a manager who shows immense faith in youth. With time, Tottenham might have an excellent winger who they groomed and let’s hope they turn down this offer from Dortmund.
