Transfer hijack! Tottenham swoop in for Leeds starlet Archie Gray

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to acquire Leeds United prodigy Archie Gray in a sensational move as the North Londoners look to hijack Brentford’s bid to land the 18-year-old, per Football Insider.

Leeds United accepted a £40 million bid from Thomas Frank’s side as the Bees look to secure the highly acclaimed starlet from Elland Road this summer. The player has agreed to personal terms with the Premier League side and is set for a medical to get on with the conclusive proceedings for a transfer to West London.

However, the Lilywhites have a well-established interest in the Duram-born right-back and are looking to make a last-ditch attempt to secure his signatures in a shock ambush on Sunday.

There is a financial situation at Elland Road that is forcing Leeds into a potential sale before today’s PSR deadlines, and Tottenham are set to take advantage of the circumstances to land the highly-rated England U21 international.

The North Londoners have been reported to be looking at Archie throughout the last season and have been linked with a move for his services earlier this month. Archie Gray has been nothing short of phenomenal last season for Leeds United, which has tempted multiple clubs to sign him this summer. He started in 47 of the 52 games that Leeds played last season, as they missed out on promotion back to the English top tier after their play-off final defeat against Southampton.

He did pen down a new contract at Elland Road during the commencement of the ongoing year. His newly signed contract goes on until 2028; however, he is now set to move away from the Yorkshire-based club this summer.
