Tottenham receive verbal bid from Premier League club for defender who had an impressive Championship stint

Tottenham have received a verbal bid for their Championship star

As reported by Alasdair Gold, Tottenham Hotspur have received a verbal bid for their Championship star, Joe Rodon. The 26-year-old defender spent last season on loan with Championship side, Leeds United.

During his time with Leeds, Rodon made 50 appearances across all competitions. He was solid as a rock for his team and did a terrific job at defending for the entirety of last season. If Rodon had not been on loan, maybe Tottenham’s injury struggles might not have stung as badly.

It is no wonder that Premier League side, Ipswich Town are also showing interest in the 26-year-old defender. However, Alasdair Gold confirmed that Ipswich have not submitted a formal bid or anything in writing as of now.

As of today, Ipswich Town, Leeds United, and Leicester are interested in signing Joe Rodon. The Wales national has not broken his silence on the situation and is currently out of the country on a training camp.

It seems like Rodon is determined to start next season in his best shape. If his training camp pays off, maybe Tottenham could even be inclined to give him a chance in preseason. However, that seems a little far-fetched.

If the Lilywhites get a fair offer for Rodon this summer, they won’t have a lot of reasons not to pull the trigger. If the 26-year-old was going to get consistent minutes, Radu Dragusin wouldn’t have arrived in January.
