Tottenham midfielder could be available for cheap this summer
As revealed by Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Tottenham Hotspur star, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could be available for a cheap deal in the range of £8.4m-£10.1m. According to him, Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, and Borrusia Dortmund are interested in signing the 28-year-old.
Hojbjerg has been on Tottenham’s books for four years now. He arrived from Southampton back in 2020 and has since become a key member of the Lilywhites. Over the past four years, the 28-year-old has recorded 184 appearances.
Most of Hojbjerg’s time has been spent playing as either a CM or a DM. He’s done an excellent job providing cover to the backline all these years. Hojbjerg’s distribution is also top-class and leaves little to be desired. However, his time in North London seems to be coming to an end.
Hojbjerg’s contract with the Lilywhites will run out at the end of next season. Since a renewal or extension doesn’t seem to be in the works, the Spurs are at risk of losing the player on a free contract. This would be bad considering how active they’ve been in the market lately.
Moreover, they’ve just finished signing Archie Gray who can also play in the middle of the pitch as either a 6 or an 8. This will make the prospect of losing Hojbjerg a little easier for the Lilywhites. Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, and Dortmund shouldn’t have much trouble pursuing the 28-year-old.
