Tottenham Hotspur starlet Will Lankshear set for loan move
Tottenham Hotspur starlet Will Lankshear has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane this summer, albeit on a loan deal, as the club looks to ensure his development into a promising striker.
The highly rated Hotspur Way academy graduate recently penned down a new five-year deal at N17, which will keep him at the club until 2029. John Wenham described the youngster as “phenomenal”
Where next for Lankshear?
According to Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold, who acknowledged that the club holds the academy star in very high regard and that he has been training with the first team this week, Lankshear is expected to go on loan this summer transfer window in search of regular playing time under his belt, and there has been significant interest in his signatures from Championship and League One sides alike.
Lankshear has a history with Arsenal, just like one of the legendary Spurs strikers. He began his career at Hale End Academy before eventually moving to Sheffield United. His impressive outings at Bramall Lane attracted interest from Tottenham before the North Londoners beat Brentford to secure his signature for £2.5 million.
He has continued to impress since his move to the N17 and has put in some exceptional performances in the UEFA Youth League and Premier League 2. Will Lankshear scored 23 goals in 23 appearances in the recent season of Premier League 2.
His performances have impressed Spurs enough to ascertain that he is ready for senior minutes and to continue his development before he can help Ange Postecoglou’s squad.
