Surgery clouds future of Tottenham’s Bryan Gil
Tottenham Hotspur ace Bryan Gil may need to go under the knife in the future if his current problems with sports hernia continue, per injury expert Dr. Rajpal Brar.
Bryan Gil has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane this summer as he looks to accumulate game time under his belt to develop into the silky winger everyone thought he would become when the Spaniard signed for Spurs. As he looks to put an end to his time in North London, clubs across Europe are looking to secure his signatures this summer.
Under the Knife or out the door?
Although any potential exit may soon be converted into doubt, as Dr. Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, indicates in his exclusive interview with Tottenham News:
“Gil had pubic bone inflammation that kept him out for two months last season. It could be what’s called a sports hernia, aka osteitis pubis.”
“It is not uncommon for younger footballers and is typically managed conservatively first, but if it continues to be an issue, then surgical intervention is possible, so I’d say it’s on the cards and always an option.”
“Clubs looking to sign him will be careful and do their due medical diligence on that.“
Daniel Levy & Co. should consider selling the 23-year-old if a suitable offer were to arrive for his services this summer. Irrespective of his very high football ceiling, Gil has struggled to secure a regular spot on the Spurs roster.

That being said, Gil is a fantastic prospect and still has big years ahead of him where he can become the player he was destined to be.
