Tottenham target Locko to bolster left-back options

Tottenham Hotspur have expressed interest in signing Brest full-back Bradley Locko in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The North Londoners have been very active in the window, as they have already initiated a process to ensure Ange Postecoglou has commendable squad depth going into next season as they look to finish in the top four for the 2024–25 season. Spurs have already signed Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall to the squad this summer, and journalist Paul O’Keefe thinks they are now looking to make a move for Bradley Locko to bolster their defensive options ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Locko moved to Brest on a short-term loan during the winter window in 2023, before the French side made the move permanent in the following summer. The 22-year-old has taken stride after stride since he moved to Stade Francis Le Blé. He primarily played in the left-back role last season, where he featured in 35 games and contributed to three goals.

Owing to his impressive performances, multiple clubs, including Tottenham, have been looking at possibilities to sign him this summer.

If the North Londoners are able to sign Bradley Locko this summer, it would spell an end to Sergio Reguilón’s time at White Hart Lane. Spurs brought the Spanish full-back in a £32 million move from Real Madrid. He was Jose Mourinho’s signing, with the legendary manager rating the Spanish talent very highly.

Destiny Udogie has been an integral presence at Ange’s Spurs, although he does have his injury concerns, which makes it important for the club to sign a backup to maintain consistency. Locko will be an exceptional arrival at Hotspur Way in the long term, and it will again be an astute piece of business by the Lilywhites.
