Spurs target “brilliant player” Nico Willians in a headline transfer
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams as they look to complete one of the headline transfers of the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Lilywhites have already made a radiant start to the transfer window after having already sealed the arrivals of Archie Gray from Leeds United and Lucas Bergvall joining from Djurgarden, alongside the return of Timo Werner.
Daniel Levy and Ange Postecoglou are now targeting an addition in the forward line, with the EURO 2024 winner linked with a move to White Hart Lane. The North Londoners have been subject to links with Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze and Juventus’ Chiesa, although Nico Williams looks like the most attractive prospect of all.
The Spaniard is one of the most exciting players in Europe at the moment, and he proved his credentials in the European Championship finals against England.
O’Hara backs Spurs move
Former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara has admitted that he would love to bring the 22-year-old to the N17 this summer. Speaking on talkSPORT, Jamie was quizzed by a fan about the rumours surrounding Nico Williams’ arrival at Spurs.
He said, “Yeah, I would love him, of course. A brilliant player.”
Nico Williams enjoyed a magnificent campaign with Athletic Bilbao, scoring eight goals and providing 19 assists in 37 appearances last season. He played an integral role in the Spanish giants Copa del Rey triumph and helped them finish fifth in La Liga.
Spurs would love to add his quality to their current roster. Although he is asking for very high wages, which makes it difficult for the North Londoners to afford his services at the moment.
