Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a summer deal for Nottingham Forest star Murillo
Tottenham Hotspur are looking to add defensive depth to the heart of the last line as the North Londoners monitor Nottingham Forest centre-back Murillo ahead of a potential transfer this summer.
Spurs have already enjoyed a fantastic start to the transfer window after already bringing Archie Gray from Leeds United and Lucas Bergvall from Djurgarden, along with the return of Timo Werner.
Daniel Levy and Ange Postecoglou are now targeting an addition to the back line, with the South American linked with a move to White Hart Lane. The Lilywhites have been subject to links with multiple defenders throughout the summer window, and their priorities upfront have changed over the past few weeks.
With Riccardo Calafiori heading to Arsenal and Jarrad Branthwaite deemed too expensive, Tottenham have now landed on the 22-year-old Nottingham defender.
Tottenham’s summer spending spree continues with Murillo interest
According to a report from The Athletic, the Spurs have been scouting Murillo, who enjoyed a magnificent last season. The Brazilian made a significant impact in ensuring that Forest continued in the English top tier, and he was awarded Nottingham’s Player of the Season for 2023-24.
While he still has four years left on his contract at City Ground, there is a belief that the Spurs can push the Tricky Trees into selling Murillo. This can be attributed to two reasons: first, there is a PSR problem at Nottingham, which they will need to sell to balance their books; and second, they just signed Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina.

Murillo is reportedly valued at £60 to £70 million by Nottingham, which is a very high valuation for a player with only one season in the Premier League under his belt. It is to be seen if Spurs meet Nottingham at the budgeted valuation as they seek to bolster their defensive setup.
Nicknamed ‘Beckenbauer’, Murillo certainly takes a shine after the iconic German sweeper. Not only does he aim to take inspiration from Franz Beckenbauer but also harbours dreams of eclipsing him one day. We hope when that day comes, he will be decked out in Spurs colours.
