All is quiet on the Italian front as Tottenham receive no new bids for Emerson Royal
As reported by Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur have received no new bids for their Brazilian fullback, Emerson Royal.
The 25-year-old has been given the green light to leave the club this summer, the latter having been in talks with AC Milan recently for his exit.
The Serie A side had reportedly made a €10m offer recently, which the club rejected. No new bids have been made since.
Emerson joined Spurs from Barcelona three seasons ago on a £25.7 million deal but has failed to impress in the long stretch.
Currently valued by Transfermarkt at €18.00 million, Royal’s £40k-a-week contract at Spurs is set to run until June 2026.
Tick tock
One way or another, Spurs have a major call to make here.
They have long made it clear to others that Royal is a player surplus to their requirements and, with the season less than a month away, they have received an offer nowhere close to the €20 million they want, and it’s unlikely one such offer will be coming their way going forward.
As the summer transfer window progresses, we usually tend to see sellers become more desperate than the buyers, with players going on the deadline day for way cheaper than what was being offered for them earlier in the summer.

Therefore, it would be in Spurs’ best interest if they were to lower their demands a bit as far as Royal is concerned.
