"Fantastic impact" - Ange Postecoglou all buts confirms new Tottenham Hotspur signing dubbed to be the next Son Heung-min

Gangwon’s “next Son Heung-min” Min-hyuk Yang is Spurs-bound

South Korean teenage sensation Min-hyuk Yang is on his way to Spurs.

The 18-year-old winger, capable of playing on either wing, had been attracting interest from Europe on the back of his exploits in the home league, having registered seven goals and three assists this season in 24 appearances.

Speaking to Football London, South Korean football expert Sungmo Lee explained why Yang is such a big deal.

“Yang Min-hyuk is the best young player in the K League right now, and most significantly, he’s still a high school student. His talent was so exceptional so his club Gangwon proposed the professional contract to a high school student which was the first ever case in K League’s history.

“He showed great performances in K League this season, winning the ‘young player of the month’ award three times in a row from April to June. He is a great dribbler but also possesses great finishing skills which makes Korean fans hope that he can become the next Son Heung-min, especially if he joins the same club with Son in Tottenham.”

Yang’s arrival will add another teenage sensation to the Spurs youth setup. Technical director Johan Lange has been working hard alongside Ange Postecoglou to present the club as a better option for growth to young players compared to their contemporaries and have managed to rope in quite a few stars ahead of next season.

Up next for Spurs is a pre-season friendly against Vissel Kobe out in Japan. They kick off their Premier League campaign against the newly-promoted Leicester City next month.

Spurs just keep getting exciting

Earlier this year, Lange talked about wanting to make Spurs an attractive prospect for youngsters.

Suffice it to say, he is following through on his promise. For a Spurs fan, this transfer market cannot be anything apart from exciting. The club are not only reinforcing the starting XI to the best of their capabilities, but they are also planning for the future and beating their rivals in the meantime.
