Bryan Gil Tottenham departure imminent
Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane in the ongoing summer transfer window. The Spaniard has endured a difficult spell in North London, and his nightmare can finally come to an end following a move back to Spain this off-season.
The silky winger signed for Spurs in a highly anticipated move from Sevilla for £21.6 million, with Erik Lamela going the other way. It was regarded as one of the most highly touted moves of that summer, despite the high fees involved.
With high expectations complemented by the pressure of the mammoth fees, the 23-year-old scuffled and has never found his confidence back wearing the Lilywhites badge.
And former Tottenham defender Alan Hutton thinks that he will leave for Girona this summer and put an end to his miserable time in the N17. The player was not included in Ange Postecoglou’s squad for the pre-season tour, and it is said to be the final nail in the coffin that concludes his Tottenham career.
Alan Hutton weighs in
Hutton also acknowledges the talent that Gil possesses and insists that the winger would be keen to settle down in Spain and eager to prove himself in La Liga.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Hutton said:
“I think so now. For him to go on a permanent, for him to find somewhere where he can settle down and be comfortable instead of going out on loans, coming back and just getting a couple of minutes here and there.
“I’m just looking from the outside and he probably doesn’t feel part of it because one minute you’re there, the next minute you’re out on loan. It keeps happening so I don’t think you can really get any sort of consistency so it will have been really hard.
“I thought he would have left at least a season ago, but it’s not come to fruition and I just don’t really see a reason for him now to go back out on loan. If there’s an opportunity for him to go somewhere and settle, I think that could be the best way forward for him because he is a talented boy.”

Gil is a fantastic player who can glide through the pitch. He is still very young and can again find his way into the potential he possesses.
We hope that he goes on to do that. He is an incredible kid who has always gone heads down and grind, irrespective of the continuity of loans. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out.
