No McTominay pursuit for Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay in the ongoing summer transfer window, as multiple reports suggested that the North Londoners are looking to hijack a deal for the Scott maestro from under the noses of Fulham.
The report also acknowledged that Ange Postecoglou admires the player, and Daniel Levy & Co. are contemplating a bid for the midfielder.
However, there have been claims denying the Lilywhites’ interest, as Sky Sports Journalist Michael Bridge insists that the club has no plans to pursue a move for the 27-year-old midfielder.
McTominay snub for Tottenham as United hold firm
Manchester United, at the moment, have a shortage in the position and are keen to hold on to McTominay. They have already turned down an initial bid from Fulham for the midfielder, and the refusal of a substantial bid also suggests United’s desire to hold him following the magnificent season that he enjoyed at Old Trafford last year.
He showed his ability and potential to clutch games on his own, as Scott scored ten goals wearing the Manchester United badge last season.
While speaking about the capabilities of McTominay and the brilliance he can bring on the pitch, Bridge insists that Spurs links with the 27-year-old, who has no base.
In an interview with GMS, the Sky journalist said:
“My understanding is that there’s nothing in Scott McTominay rumors at the moment.
“He is a very decent player, and he’s a bit of a leader, but I don’t think Tottenham are in for him as it stands. As we speak, it’s not a player I think Spurs are pursuing.”

Tottenham have already signed Archie Gray this summer, while Lucas Bergvall has also arrived from Djurgarden. However, the club is looking to add more reinforcements in the middle of the park, and it looks like they are certain to bring in at least a new face this summer.
McTominay would have been a brilliant signing, alas, the rumours didn’t turn out to be of serious interest.
