Tottenham closing in on a €30m move for EURO 2020 star; could play on both wings

Injury concerns or not, Federico Chiesa could be Tottenham’s next big hit

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Juventus winger Federico Chiesa as the North Londoners anticipate a move for the Italian winger this summer transfer window.

The Lilywhites are looking to take advantage of the player’s current situation with the Turin-based club in order to land his services this off-season.

Chiesa recently played in the European Championships with Italy, although he has been training alone since arriving back at Juventus following a delayed vacation owing to his participation in EURO 2024.

North London’s new star?

The North Londoners have apparently tabled a bid to land the 26-year-old and are closing in on securing his signatures this summer, per Calcio Napoli 24. The report also claims that the North Londoners would land the winger in a few close to €30–35 million.

This is a bargain considering Federico Chiesa’s potential and ceiling. If Spurs can conclude this deal, it will again be a masterpiece transfer from Daniel Levy, especially because Chelsea and Arsenal expressed a late interest in signing the Italian international.

While he has a blurry injury history, he is only 26 and has a lot of football left in him. If Ange Postecoglou can use Chiesa in the right manner and protect him from any injury relapses, he would be a magnificent addition to the current roster.

The suggestions when the deal was in its initial stages indicated that a possible transfer could conclude for around €20–25 million in fees, although it looks like the fee would be about ten million more than initially budgeted. And for that amount, we can rule out the likes of AS Roma and Napoli for his signatures by a mile and more.

For Tottenham, he would be a ceiling-raiser with Rio Ferdinand even claiming he can ‘unnerve defenders with pace’; and he could go on to become an integral part of the Australian boss’ squad.
